These jazz hands have left
my arms tired and weary,
as if only I could dance away
the funereal dirge of downbeats,
one after the other. Has love
at last gone into permanent hiding?
A blather of negative ions has splattered
the world like a Pollock painting gone mad.
I need an electric body of quantum physicists
to join in tracking down the missing trillions
of positive molecules that have fled in disarray.
Perhaps if we all just get our hands jazzy enough-
come on join me- and we will not stop waving
and swaying our jazz hands until this world
explodes with a new dynamic, powered only
by our jazzy jazz hands.
Humanity sits adrift, in an endless wave,
awaiting a certain crash, upon some
We span the globe, our feet tapping
out a warning to future generations-
will there be enough air, water and food
sufficient to sustain over seven billion
searching souls? Yet, who will save us,
Knowing the mantra 'what's in it for me'
has long since played out to catastrophic
result, a strident call to change, to let
each one of us become a beacon that
others can see, trails across the night sky.
A contagion of light enfolds the seven billion
en masse, as the answer sings in unison,
we will, we will be the ones to save ourselves.
Let it simply begin and let it simply begin-
Grab My Words
Just try and grab my words,
some of them are barbed,
and I even possess words that breathe
fire, that spit nails, that just shut up
if they have to. Just try and grab
even one or a basketful, it does not
matter. I am not saying these words
are bombastic, incendiary or erotic,
just that they are alone or together enough.
Shhh. Listen again. There are even more
words firing faster than lead from a Gatling
gun. Pling Pling. Pling.
I am not my words as much as you are not your
words. This amalgamation of flesh, sinew and bones
cannot even be adequately described by carelessly
grabbing just any ole word. No, whether you grab
my words or yours, please just keep your remaining
wits about you- ever mindful of each one’s final impact.
As an Ecstatic Poet, my aim is to awaken in you, the part of you that knows the truth of your being, the beauty of your soul.
