In the motionless moments,
your eyes again turn inward,
to watch each of the movies
rewind still frame by still frame.
You begin to discern that the
narrator's voice is dubbed,
as if someone else is speaking a foreign
language through his lips. At once you realize
the director as the culprit, the one who
has been misdirecting every nuance.
The silence is alive with laughter-your own-
as you watch him parade back and forth,
with a Maltese Falcon sitting atop his plastic cigarette holder.
You open your lips to speak at the very moment-
the impostor, falcon and cigarette holder all disintegrate
into a pile of dust. You remain motionless, as each scene
rewound, now reveals subtler shades of blue.
As an Ecstatic Poet, my aim is to awaken in you, the part of you that knows the truth of your being, the beauty of your soul.
