And, so it is in this recurring dream,
I see arms unfolded, I see no animosity
toward one another. I see no hearts hardened
by false beliefs that belie the ego’s vain attempts
to console itself, with a muddled soup of what
and who is right and wrong.
In this recurring dream, I see love lighting,
at last, a fire aglow in each person’s heart.
Forgiveness is the new blood pumping compassion
through veins hungry for free passage. Eyes expand
in conjunction with rising consciousness, as those
seen as enemies- now are seen as only the sisters
and brothers of a common humanity.
In this recurring dream, bad news disappears.
As we enfold each other in an unquenchable love,
not one among us goes hungry ever again.
All the past plagues of humanity –war, disease,
poverty, starvation and hate- are a forgotten memory,
washed clean in the ocean of our longing to heal.
In this recurring dream, I see each one rising up,
reaching out a steady hand to lift up another and another.
In this recurring dream, I am awake,
awake to this new world envisioned,
yet promised by the One.
